Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly skilled and can deal with most health conditions and illnesses. They can prescribe medications and refer patients for treatment from other health services.

Donna Devereux

Donna, Advanced Nurse Practitioner joined us in March 2017.  She has experience in both Primary Care and Accident and Emergency settings.  She has been a Non Medical Prescriber since 2009 and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Professional Practice in 2013.  She has, since 2010, enjoyed seeing and delivering care to her patients alongside her GP colleagues in local Walk In Centres, Out of Hours and GP practices within the area.  Her special interests are in managing long term conditions and contraceptive care.  Donna currently lives with her partner in a the local town of Grantham where she likes to spend her spare time with her family and friends.  She enjoys music of all genres and loves travelling.

Rachel Brown

RGN Ba (Hons) Nurse Practitioner with Non-Medical Prescribing and a trainee in Advanced Clinical Practice (MSC)

Rachel was born and raised in Nottingham. In 2000 she started her life long ambition of becoming a nurse and attended Sheffield Hallam University where she completed her Nursing Degree in 2004. Rachel has been working for the practice since February 2009 when she joined the team as a Practice Nurse. Rachel’s previous working background involved working as a Deputy Team Lead Staff Nurse on a Gynaecology Unit and then as a Staff Nurse in Genito Urinary Medicine. Rachel works as a prescribing Clinical Practitioner having completed her Non-Medical Prescribing in 2015 and holds regular clinics on a     Monday and Tuesday. Rachel is Lead Nurse for the practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants and enjoys training and supporting these pivotal roles in primary care. Outside of work    Rachel is happiest when spending time with her family and friends and is kept busy with her biggest project the family.

Caroline Lee

Advanced Nurse Practitioner Caroline joined the practice in May 2019.

Gail Bowes

RGN MSc BSc (Hons)  Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Gail joined the practice in August 2019.  Gail trained at Hull School of Nursing qualifying at the end of 1983 and went on to work in various areas of nursing while bringing up her three children.   She was always keen to learn and trained as a Nursery Nurse as well as obtaining an Adult Teaching Certificate and trained in alternative therapies at night school before undertaking a degree in Health Studies at Lincoln University, graduating in 2001.  Gail went into general practice later in 2011 and trained in all areas of chronic disease and then progressed to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner graduating from Huddersfield University in 2009 with an MSc.  

Gail has a keen interest in diabetes, women's health and mental health.  Gail’s children are all grown up now and she has a  grandson and step-granddaughter.  Gail loves the outdoors whether it is walking her labradors, out on her motorbike or travelling to destinations abroad.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Our Nursing Team also includes our Health Care Assistants who are skilled and qualified in performing the following:- 

COPD, diabetic and hypertension reviews (work-up), BP monitoring, skilled phlebotomists (blood taking),  wound management, offer dietary advice, perform ECGs, carry out NHS Health Checks, spirometry, urinalysis, B12, flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccinations.  Amanda is also qualified at performing ear irrigation.
